Judith Beattie
Specialist Hepatology
& Transplant Lead Dietitian, Belfast

Judith Beattie is a Specialist Dietitian and Team Lead currently practicing in Belfast with 20 years of acute clinical experience ranging from ICU and burns to thoracic surgery and diabetes. Over the last 16 years, she has honed her specialisation in Hepatology & Transplant dietetics, and is a valued member of a large MDT comprised of consultants, nurses, transplant coordinators, physios and pharmacists, who work closely to develop and modernise the management of patients with liver disease.
Together with physiotherapists, she has developed a joint ‘pre-hab’ transplant clinic to optimise patient condition pre-surgery, which has contributed to excellent patient outcomes.
Judith’s work also involves significant teaching responsibilities for students, dietitians, nursing and medical staff. She is also an Honorary Lecturer for Queens University, Belfast teaching Medicine students and 'Food and Nutrition' students. Both of these roles allowing her to promote her passion for the role of nutrition and targeted dietetic input in liver disease.
